Simone & Dale's Project Overveiw
Simone reached out to me via text message to ask about my services for helping with their ensuite and bathroom renovation. After at our initial visit and subsequent Design & Concept Brief Session, we prepared a brief to ensure that we had covered off on all of their specific requirements.
The Design & Concept Brief Session is a really important step in the design process before any designing actually starts. It’s where we get to ask a lot of questions so we can learn more about you, your family, your lifestyle, how your space currently works and does not work, and what you’d love to achieve for the space after the work is done.
So, for this project, we had a home built in the 80’s with the original outdated bathrooms, a family of 4 with two older teenagers, a lack of storage in the bathrooms, and quite a wish list for what the clients REALLY wanted. I’m a pretty details-oriented person, so it’s easy for me to get to the nitty-gritty of understanding what you need…. even if you’re not so sure yourself!
Once we had created the design direction, Simone & Dale, being small business operators themselves, opted to engage us for the Full Service Design & Facilitation Service Package, knowing that they could just get on with their lives, while I organised everything for them. From design plans, to colour and material selections, to selecting all of the fittings and fixtures, arranging trade quotes and facilitating the project on their behalf – they were able to leave everything to me, whilst still keeping them informed every step of the way.
When you see the before & after pics, you’ll see that the spaces were small and quite a challenge to fit everything in that was included in the brief. But we worked our magic and came up with a design that they love and met all the requirements of their brief!
