Aiden & Flore's Project Overview
Our lovely returning clients, Aiden and Flore, recently purchased a home in The Gap and engaged us to redesign and elevate the key spaces throughout. The project included the kitchen, ensuite, main bathroom, powder room and laundry, with our scope encompassing full spatial planning, custom cabinetry design, and the selection of all fittings, fixtures and finishes.
The brief was to create a distinctly Australian feel, drawing inspiration from the natural tones, textures and colours. Together, these elements create a layered and tranquil home that feels grounded, warm and timeless, with a strong connection to its natural surroundings.
Kitchen
Designed as the heart of the home, this light-filled kitchen balances generous entertaining space with highly considered functionality. Warm timber cabinetry brings depth and character, paired with crisp white stone benchtops and a soft, hand-laid herringbone splashback that adds subtle texture and movement.
The generous island provides ample preparation and gathering space, while integrated cabinetry keeps everyday essentials neatly concealed. Open shelving creates opportunities to display treasured pieces, while a combination of drawers, overhead cupboards and a concealed pantry ensures everything has its place. Natural timber flooring and carefully selected styling elements complete the warm, relaxed feel.
Bathroom
The bathroom was redesigned as a calm and luxurious retreat, with a generous freestanding bath positioned beneath the window and a spacious walk-in shower enclosed in frameless glass. Soft, tonal tiles wrap the walls, creating a layered backdrop that feels both contemporary and timeless.
A custom timber vanity introduces warmth against the neutral palette, complemented by a crisp stone benchtop and understated dark metal tapware. Recessed niches provide practical storage while keeping the clean-lined aesthetic intact, and considered detailing throughout ensures the space feels refined without being overly formal.
Laundry
The laundry was designed to maximise both storage and everyday functionality while maintaining the same warm material palette as the adjoining spaces. Custom timber cabinetry provides generous concealed storage, with durable benchtops creating a practical work surface for sorting and folding.
Open shelving and carefully integrated joinery keep frequently used items accessible, while the restrained palette of timber, white cabinetry and neutral finishes creates a bright, calm and highly functional space.
