Leah & Rob's Project Overview
Our clients, Leah and Rob, came to us ready to transform their Cashmere home into a light-filled, family-friendly haven designed for connection, comfort, and everyday living. With a growing family and new grandchildren joining the mix, they wanted spaces that would evolve with them – practical, inviting, and layered with warmth and personality.
We reimagined the ground floor layout and key spaces, including the kitchen, laundry, powder room, and walk-in robe. The design approach focused on improving functionality and flow while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic that was calm, refined, and timeless, with natural materials and soft, modern detailing that bring balance and harmony throughout the home.
Kitchen
The kitchen was designed to be the true heart of the home: open, welcoming, and perfectly suited to family life. We reconfigured the ground floor, moving walls to improve flow and create stronger indoor–outdoor connections. A larger stacker door now opens the kitchen to the back deck, while a new bi-fold window servery and fixed glass splashback flood the space with natural light.
The generous island bench anchors the room, ideal for casual meals, homework, or entertaining. Warm timber battens and curved shelving balance the crisp white cabinetry, creating a calm, contemporary feel. Thoughtful joinery, feature pendant lighting with copper detailing, and Smeg appliances tie the space together, a blend of beauty, warmth, and practicality.
Laundry
Practicality and connection were key in rethinking the laundry. By removing the dividing wall and introducing a cavity sliding door, we created direct access from the kitchen while maintaining flexibility to close off the space when needed. The reconfigured layout makes the most of a compact footprint, with sleek cabinetry and warm timber finishes that continue the visual language of the kitchen.
Powder Room
The powder room was designed as a small yet elegant retreat. A soft neutral palette, stone-look tiles, and a streamlined wall-mounted basin create a clean, modern aesthetic that complements the home’s warm tones and understated sophistication.
Walk-in Robe
The walk-in robe brings a sense of everyday luxury through custom joinery and a thoughtfully planned layout. Ample storage, dedicated zones for different wardrobe needs, and refined finishes make this space both functional and indulgent.
Each of these spaces was designed to balance function with feeling, creating a home that’s cohesive, comfortable, and effortlessly stylish for a growing family.
