Debbie & Andrew's Project Overview

Debbie and Andrew first made contact over the phone to enquire about how I could help them with a renovation for a new kitchen. Feeling comfortable and keen to move forward, they booked The Design Brief package with me so that we could dive into getting things moving.

We learned so many really interesting things from that session about what they liked and what frustrated them about their kitchen, but we also learnt a lot about what they hadn’t thought about in terms of workflow, ergonomics and organisation. The Design Brief was quite extensive, but nothing over the top. I just made sure that everything that would make their new kitchen super amazing was considered in the new design.

We included beautiful new engineered timber flooring throughout the house, as well as a built-in TV cabinet in the Living Room, new window treatments and new art pieces in the Dining Room. They decided that The Full Service Package was right for them, as they both have busy jobs, and loved the idea of me doing all the hard work sourcing everything and liaising with trades.

Testimonial

“For many years we felt frustrated with the poorly designed kitchen that was installed when we built our house. It was high time for an upgrade, and we decided that we didn’t want to risk making similar mistakes and knew the solution was to engage the services of an Interior Designer. Thankfully, we found Verona, a highly skilled interior designer with a great eye for detail and style. At our initial meeting she spent time getting to know us and our needs and desires for our home in depth.

Through creative problem solving and her exceptional attention to detail she transformed our kitchen from a tired, dysfunctional space to a well thought out, beautiful, modern and functional space that we would not have had the skill to achieve on our own.

It has now truly become the heart of our home – rather than being annoying when more than one person was in the kitchen, it has become the hub. It is now a comfortable place for several people to be together – whether it to be helping with preparing a meal or sitting at the kitchen island bench doing homework, or socialising!

The project was more than just a kitchen renovation with the project expanding to new flooring, fittings and artwork in adjacent rooms which provided much needed design flow. Verona also came up with an innovative solution for additional storage that blended seamlessly with the kitchen.

During the renovation phase Verona delivered a great service along with her fabulous network of tradespeople and provided regular updates on all tasks. With detailed plans in place and decisions made, we were able to go about our lives and leave Verona and the team to complete the renovation.

Our expectations were exceeded, and the finished product is even better than we imagined – I would describe it as being next-level and magazine worthy! I am delighted to recommend Verona at Avid Interior Design.”

Rachel and Jared’s Mudroom

The Brief was to create not only a beautiful entry into the home, but also to incorporate practical storage and a functional area for the children to get ready for school or come home and unpack their school bags. I suggested including a barn door as an ideal way to zone off the main entry from the mudroom, providing a practical yet stylish means to separate the two spaces and still in keeping with the overall look and feel of the home.
