Michael and Symonn's Project Overview
For their first renovation, Michael and Symmon wanted to transform their Everton Hills home into a space that felt calm, cohesive, and easy to live in. What began as an update to a few key areas evolved into a full interior refresh, reimagining the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, and overall layout to better suit their lifestyle.
Through thoughtful planning and a guided, collaborative process, each space was carefully considered from early concepts through to construction. The result is a home that feels open, light-filled, and connected, with a timeless palette and refined detailing that brings warmth, softness, and a sense of everyday luxury.
Kitchen & Living
Previously positioned awkwardly at the centre of the home, the kitchen has been completely reimagined to improve flow, functionality, and connection to the surrounding spaces. By removing walls and introducing a new layout, the kitchen now seamlessly integrates with the dining and living areas, while a large glass sliding door brings in natural light and strengthens the connection to the outdoors.
Soft curves were introduced throughout the joinery to create warmth and complement the home’s furnishings, balanced by clean-lined cabinetry in Polytec Malabar (Prime Oak Woodmatt and Dulux Aida green). YDL Stone benchtops in Cumulus Cloud add a refined finish, while generous bench space and smart storage solutions ensure the kitchen is as practical as it is beautiful.
The adjoining butler’s pantry provides additional functionality, with a dedicated tea and coffee station, space for small appliances, and efficient storage, all finished in Polytec Blossom White for a clean, cohesive look.
Laundry
The laundry has been completely reworked from a disorganised, underwhelming space into one that feels calm, efficient, and beautifully resolved. A thoughtfully designed layout maximises every inch, with the washer and dryer neatly integrated beneath the benchtop for a streamlined finish.
Ample cabinetry provides practical storage, while a hidden pull-out clothesline adds everyday convenience. The result is a hardworking space that proves functionality and aesthetics can work seamlessly together.
Main Bathroom & Powder Room
The bathrooms were transformed from tired, dated spaces into calming, spa-like retreats. The main bathroom features soft green kit-kat tiles, a spacious shower, and a practical vanity with ample storage, all designed with longevity and timeless appeal in mind.
In the powder room, a custom vanity was designed to suit the narrow footprint, delivering both functionality and style. Cohesive materials and finishes ensure both spaces feel connected to the overall home, creating a consistent and refined design language throughout.
Ensuite
The ensuite was reimagined as a serene retreat, defined by a timeless and balanced design. A floating timber vanity with dual basins provides both functionality and generous storage, complemented by a custom mirror cabinet with soft curved detailing.
Feature green tiles introduce texture and tranquillity, while a spacious back-to-wall bath enhances the sense of relaxation. Every element was carefully considered to create a calming, spa-like environment that feels both luxurious and inviting.
Testimonial
“It was our first renovation and Verona was excellent, helping us every step of the way….from our early ideas right through to construction. She kept in touch regularly with progress updates and met with us to go through samples, colours and drawings. Our ideas grew a little as we went and in the end we ended up doing a full interior refresh which included kitchen, three bathrooms, laundry, flooring, lighting and painting.
Once she understood the style we were after, she gave us options that made sense without overwhelming us. Her contacts with a great builder and trades, which were people who had all worked together before, meant we didn’t have to deal with the stress of chasing quotes or managing the process ourselves. The schedules and drawings were really clear, so there were no surprises during quoting or construction.
We’d happily recommend Verona to anyone starting a renovation.”
