Is that really the same space?! Make sure you see the before and after images below!
Here are a few of the amazing 3D renders of the kitchen from the New Farm project I’m currently working on for a client – some of the finishes highlighted here last month.
We have a few restrictions with the space, as this is in an apartment block, where things like plumbing and electricals are almost impossible to relocate. So, often, the footprint is the footprint. BUT, what we can do, is improve the functionality and feel of the space by incorporating clever design and finishes. AND, we can also knock out that 70’s inspired arched doorway and wall that’s making the old kitchen look so dark and pokey.
In this case, the existing kitchen doesn’t have a proper pantry, so that was the first priority in this layout. The client also needs more bench space for food prep and entertaining, so the raised servery had to go – which also opens up the space considerably, and the beautiful Lily White Trendstone stone benchtops from Project Stone lighten up the space so well too.
If you’re thinking about a kitchen renovation, before you start designing anything, have a think about what appliances you want as well as your sink. Once you know the dimensions of those items, you can start to design your cabinetry and bench layouts around them. As fun as it is to choose all the pretty tiles, cabinetry and bench finishes, getting the layout right – both inside and outside of the cabinets – is the first step to creating a kitchen that will be a joy to cook in.
The benefits of Renders
Offering 3D Renders to my clients is just one part of my process and has been a great way to help clients visualise everything and feel more confident in making decisions in our final selections. We’re still playing around with a few different options, so we’d love to see your comments and feedback! Demolition of this unit starts next week!
